Average Norwich pay 'hits £29k'

The average salary paid to workers in Norwich is £29,815, it is claimed.

The AllTheTopBananas.com web-site said it had reviewed 2,240 Norwich job adverts published between February and July this year and found that the average advertised salary in the city had also gone up by £869 in the last month.

The website said the national aver-age - excluding London - was £31,128.

Dave Martin, managing director of the website, said: "In the 10 months we have been issuing our salary index, we have seen an increase in advertised salaries every single month. It seems to indicate wages are continuing to rise, which may be contributing towards inflation, sitting at twice the target of 2pc."
